Wake UP! We are bombarded with trance on a daily basis. This course is about becoming accutely aware of how trance is used in news, politics, advertising and tv programming to perpetutate misconceptions, perpetrate fraud, and indoctrinate viewers into the dominant culture. We have to get outside the trance to see it, and we have to see it to resist it. There will be weekly assignments that will require watching TV and making notes to discuss in class. We'll also talk about the stages of waking and how it may affect the individual psychologically, as well as how to deal with waking in a sleep walking culture.
